This time, Keltika’s concert will take place at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana, where the octet Zhlehtet will perform and present the album Pieces for Collective Change, which was released last year by our label. The Zhlehtet collective, which was launched in 2019 by pianist Rok Zalokar, operates in various formations (from a trio to an octet), which have brought together prominent local musicians of the younger and middle generation. The band’s music combines electronic and acoustic instruments, pre-composed music with spontaneous improvisation, as well as a variety of musical expressions, from free jazz to ambient textures to electronically supported excursions into the ecstatic field of spiritual jazz. The album Pieces for Collective Change was voted for the best Slovenian album of 2025 by Radio Študent. The double concert evening will also feature the Dutch keyboardist and drummer duo Niels Broos & Jamie Peet, as part of the Cankarjevi torki series (Tuesday Clubbing). The Dutch duo creates music at the intersection of experimental electronics and jazz, with plenty of forays into both improvisation and more structured electronic ambient overtones. The duo members began their musical journey at an early age; the keyboardist at the age of four, the drummer at the age of five. With a distinctive expression that combines jazz, hip-hop and electronics, they quickly became influential figures on the Dutch music scene.

The concert is a coproduction between Zavod Jazz Cerkno as part of the Keltika concert series and Cankarjev dom as part of the Cankarjevi torki series.
