drank (AT)
from experimental through electronic to improvised
Ingrid Schmoliner (prepared piano)
Alexander Kranabetter (trumpet, electronics)
Tine Grgurevič, whose stage name is Bowrain, established himself in a short time as one of the most idiosyncratic Slovenian pianists, composers and producers, who feels equally at home in jazz, classical, minimalism, experiment and pop. The musician, who studied jazz in Amsterdam, regularly collaborates with other musicians (the South African band The Brother Moves On) as well as creators from other fields, such as multimedia artists jaša and Kalu, with whom he released the album Bloom last year. Lately, he has been devoting himself more and more to solo performances, and in Cerkno he will present the new solistic recital Improvisations. The Austrian tandem drank consists of pianist Ingrid Schmoliner (she performed with Hamid Drake at 25. Jazz Cerkno in 2020) and trumpeter and electronic musician Alex Kranabetter. Both musicians are known for the experimental use of their instruments; the piano is prepared with different objects, and the sound of the trumpet is significantly altered with effects. The duo combines elements of improvised and experimental music, pop, jazz, minimalism, folklore, and electronic and contemporary music. Premiere performance in Slovenia.
The concert of the band drank is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum Ljubljana.
