The opening of the outdoor exhibition will be accompanied by a concert of improvised music by the Slovenian-Italian duo Marko Lasič / Yannis Maizan. This fresh project is yet another testament to the fruitful cooperation between Slovenian and Italian jazz musicians. It will make its debut performance in early May at the famous Italian venue Dobbia Lab. The duo was formed when Slovenian drummer Marko Lasič and Italian-French saxophonist Yannis Maizan attended a Slovenian improvisation session. The project aims to explore the various possibilities of sound, questioning the conventional roles of saxophone and drums through mutual listening and creativity. The interaction between the two musicians is characterized by a constant dialogue, where each note and drum stroke responds to the other, creating an ever-evolving flow. Slovenian drummer Marko Lasič, a student of Zlatko Kaučič, is known for his work in numerous bands, such as Orkester brez meja, Free Stellar Trio, Kombo or Kača Sraka in Lev. Yannis Maizan comes from Trieste, where he graduated from the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory, and has since attended seminars and workshops led by, among others, Greg Osby, Mats Gustafsson and Joe Sanders.
