The first summer concert of Keltika will feature a renowned Slovenian band Bakalina Velika, a colorful collective of five Slovenian and one Italian musician. The sextet, with its own unique sound, spanning from folk music to rock, jazz and experiment, accompanies the unique folk poetry of the band leader Jani Kutin. The band has its roots in the duo Bakalina, composed of accordionist Renata Lapanja and singer Jani Kutin. After three albums the duo released the Španabije in 2016, on which they were joined by numerous guest musicians. This was followed by an expansion of the lineup, which has remained unchanged to this day (the accordionist left the band after Bakalina Velika’s first album). The lyrics became increasingly introspective, and the music lavishly arranged. After two acclaimed albums (Prvi krajec in 2019 and Zviezdna srebruo in 2022), the band released their third album Use kar sije in 2025, on which the musicians also played handmade musical instruments made from 6,500-year-old fir wood.
